There is a lot of complete rubbish on line about John's ancestry and marriage.
He is NOT the son of Sir John Pratt.
He lived his whole life in Sapcote.
His wife's name was Dorothy but there is no reliable evidence of her surname.
They probably married in Sapcote around 1715.
They did not marry in London in 1725 nor in Birmingham in 1735.
There was a marriage between John Pratt and Dorothy Fletcher in 1735 in Birmingham, but not this John. It is therefore highly unlikely that the Dorothy married in 1715 had the surname of Fletcher.
Do not trust any records that take John Pratt of Sapcote or his immediate descendants far from the village.
